Bob Tomarelli has been playing the guitar for more than 20 years, during which he has been a student of several genres including jazz, the blues, soul, funk, ska and rock. He’s been a noted performer in Philadelphia for over 15 years, and national and regional performer for over a decade, including a five year stay in Washington, D.C. while studying jazz performance and music theory. In the Newspaper Taxis, Bob draws on his diverse musical background to perform not just George Harrison’s tasteful melody lines, but also the hallmark string, brass, and organ parts for which the Beatles compositions are known. The newest member of the Taxis, his hard hitting and emotional playing have found a new home in their dynamic live performances. When he’s not gigging with the Taxis, you can find Bob performing, writing, or logging session work with other great local talent.
